Madison Mayhew

Through the use of clay, wax, and plaster, my works in figurative sculpture attempt to show that all bodies are of equal beauty, one not better than another. My art reveals the sharp division between the current ideal of the “perfect” body, versus that of the average body. My goal is to show the viewer a new way to see themselves by using my art to break down the hierarchy of beauty that the world has created. By doing so, I hope my art shows people how beautiful they are, exactly as they are.
