Armoni Gilbert

When I first began this series, I started off with drawings to see which direction I wanted to go into. One was a realistic portrait that could be perceived as classical. The other was a boy drawn in chrome with a floral background. As soon as the drawing was complete, I knew it was the right way to go. It was like building a bridge between a gap of artistic expression and identity.  A pivotal choice was to make these figures look like chrome or plaster sculptures to develop a sense of iconography from these images.
