My thesis work is focused on expressions of personal reflections using combinations of screen-printed image and text. The textual component is a way of expressing an inner monologue, acting as an intentional voice of my involuntary stream of consciousness. Though some offer a melancholic message, I provide a sense of comic relief through light-hearted, fictitious but familiar imagery of anthropomorphic characters. These actualized or personified characters are really the intended focal point of my thesis work. Whether they are drawn to be the voice of the text or are positioned in a manner independent of the text, they are essential to the desired effect I want to offer the viewer; an identifiable representation on the process of the human experience. Displaying the prints in multiples of three reinforces and exaggerates the compulsive, recurring nature of the depicted emotions. Whether they are taped on a bedroom wall or wheat pasted to the side of a city building, the underlying message is one of relatability, connecting myself and my experiences to the viewer
